First Light Japan Tours builds the whole travel experience in-house, from the tours themselves to the booking and guest-support systems behind them. It's how we connect Japan with the world. Our first tour: a sunrise run through Asakusa and along the Sumida River, before the city wakes.
Asakusa & Sumida River Sunrise Run
In the year 628, a statue of Kannon caught in a fishing net on the Sumida River, and Asakusa began. You run that same riverbank as the sun comes up. The pace is easy and the photo stops are frequent; if you can jog 5 km, you can finish this.

Asakusa, empty
The photo of Kaminarimon with nobody in it only exists at dawn. So does the Edo-period mural painted across the shutters of Nakamise — once the shops open, it disappears.
A story 1,400 years long
The Kannon that came from the river, the shogun's cherry trees, a neighborhood rebuilt after the war. Each stop gets one to three minutes of story, never a lecture.
It ends at breakfast
We finish in Kuramae, once the shogunate's rice-granary district, now full of coffee roasters. We plan to end each morning with breakfast at a local café.
Founded by an engineer and a consultant
First Light Japan Tours is a tour company based in Tokyo. Its founders are Kota, an engineer, and Shinsuke, a consultant — the tours, the booking system and this website are all built in-house.
